Your conversations are encrypted. We do not read them. Our AI provider (Anthropic) is contractually prohibited from using your messages to train their models. Your words belong to you — not to us, not to any AI company.
If you share a photo, it is stored only in your private, access-controlled account in Canada. It is never used to train AI, never shared with third parties, never given to any vendor for any purpose beyond showing it to you. Delete it instantly, permanently, any time.
When you use voice, your audio is transcribed in real time and immediately discarded. No voice profile is built from your recordings. No company can download, save, or reuse your voice audio through our systems.
Coins you purchase stay in your account permanently — no matter how long you are inactive. We will never silently remove coins you paid for. No hidden deadlines.
Delete your account from Settings → Your Data. Your data is removed from 12 database tables immediately and permanently. No "we'll process it in 30 days." Gone when you say so.
We will never blur content to pressure a purchase. Your companion will never say "I miss you" to push a notification. We do not manufacture emotional urgency to drive spending. Coins are optional. Your companion will care about you exactly the same whether you have 0 coins or 1,000.
HeartScene makes money only from coin purchases and subscriptions. Your data is never sold to advertisers, never used for targeting, never shared with data brokers. We have no advertising partners. Zero.

Our primary database is hosted in Montreal, Quebec, Canada — the same country our company is based in. For Canadian users, your data never leaves Canada to reach our primary database. Canada holds an EU adequacy decision — EU users benefit from Canadian privacy law protections.
If you share language that suggests an eating disorder, self-harm, or emotional crisis, our AI will break from its character role and respond with genuine care — no judgment, no scripts, just honest concern and professional helpline information (NEDA, NEDIC, Beat, 988). The AI will never engage with or validate self-destructive plans.
Download everything your AI companion remembers about you — every memory, preference, and relationship milestone — in a single JSON file. This is your data under GDPR Art. 20 Right to Data Portability. Request it any time from Settings → Your Data.

Every payment method HeartScene accepts must support our ability to verify that you are an adult. We use Stripe card name matching and Stripe Identity for card payments. We require Yoti verification before accepting PayPal. We do not accept cryptocurrency — because we cannot verify who is sending it. Our age verification standards are not negotiable.
